Our Smoky Mountain campground makes a perfect base camp for your tour of the area. Stay with us while you go hiking on the Appalachian Trail, horseback riding in the Smoky Mountains, or caving at nearby Tuckaleechee Caverns.
Ride the Tail of the Dragon which is only 18 miles from our campground. Come enjoy the Campgrounds in the Townsend TN area and the Quiet Side of the Mountain.

Misty River got it's name from an old moonshiner who said when he made his brew from the water in the river and sampled some of it, the river would look all misty to him and the name stuck. The moonshine stills are long gone, but the river is still just as beautiful as ever.

Sequester is real for the Great Smoky National Park and the National Park Service may have to close down 5 campgrounds in the Great Smoky Mountains.
But have no fear! The sequester may mean the Great Smoky National Park may closed campgrounds but Misty River Campground will still be open even when the federal budget cuts closes the government operated campgrounds.
We will be open to show you what a great time you can still have on your vacation when you stay in a tax paying private owned campground. Hope to see you soon!
